General Guiding Principles
When choosing the right equipment for the office environment there are a number of basic guiding principles to follow.
- Provide users with adequate control over their environmental conditions.
- Improve user comfort through the selection of workstation furniture and equipment that is adjustable, easy to use, and meets the anthropometric needs of the majority of users.
- Reduce exposure to ergonomic risks by applying the principles of good design, good fit and dynamic posture (movement).
- Through effective workspace design, improve workflow and efficiency of work tasks to meet production goals and reduce errors, while supporting the work, social and cultural goals of management.
- Select "user friendly" equipment and provide users with adequate training on the use and maintenance of the equipment.
