Whether you have been working remotely or have an office job, you are likely spending a lot of time typing on a keyboard and using a mouse in the modern workplace.

Frequently composing emails, writing documents, or just browsing the web can cause strain on your hands and wrists. If your work requires you to use a keyboard and a mouse, investing in an ergonomic device may be a great option.

Our ergonomics consultants have recently had a chance to review the Goldtouch Go!2 Mobile Keyboard and FlexMouse.

Below is a quick review:

The Goldtouch Go!2 Mobile keyboard is very comfortable to use and it is easily adaptable to multiple users by changing the amount that it splits and tents up.

It is ideal for traveling given its size and that it folds up into a compact square. This can be tucked away in any bag or case. The keys were responsive and gave good feedback. It is fantastic that this is a wireless device, this makes it so much more flexible. This would be ideal for kids as well.

The official product description describes the devices as “sleek, slim and lightweight, the Goldtouch Go!2 Mobile Keyboard is the perfect work and travel companion for the on-the-go worker. Unlike other travel ergonomic keyboards, which sacrifice comfort for convenience, the Goldtouch Go!2 Mobile Keyboards feature full-sized keys that are silent, fast and responsive.

Adjusts from 0º to 30º along the horizontal and vertical planes, allowing you to find the perfect position that fits your body type. Ergonomic comfort and precision: Features a scissor-switch system for fluid, silent keystrokes with tactile feedback. Built for convenience: From airplane tray tables to hotel desks, this slim keyboard fits neatly within even the smallest spaces. Additionally, this keyboard folds to a compact size for even greater travel convenience.”

The Goldtouch FlexMouse was great given the different sizes it provides.

This mouse would be a good fit for just about everyone. It also has a good feel and smooth operation. The official product description says this ergonomic mouse “takes the guess work out of selecting the perfect mouse. Four interchangeable mousing backs, ranging from Small to X-Large, will fit the smallest to the largest hands.

The additional attachments do not have to go unused. Smaller attachments can be used for tasks that require more precision, whereas larger attachments can be used for general use to maximize comfort.

No more muscle fatigue: The FlexMouse moves your wrist into an ideal 24 degree angle, eliminating the discomfort caused by wrist pronation. A thumb cushion encourages a more comfortable grip. Over-sized buttons: Your fingers can easily click without overly bending the interphalangeal joints, reducing arthritic discomfort. Bluetooth technology: Just pair the mouse with your Mac or PC and you’ll be ready to mouse, wherever you are. Better comfort, flexibility, and control are at your fingertips with the Goldtouch FlexMouse.”

Ergonomics Review of the Evoluent Vertical Mouse

Ergonomics Review of the Evoluent Vertical Mouse

Ergonomic Mouse Review

Ergonomics Consultants | Solutions Northwest Inc.The average American worker spends 7 hours a day on the computer.” – American Eye-Q 2015

There are many different versions of vertical mice. Over my years doing ergonomics assessments for office workstations, the best vertical mouse, in my professional opinion, is the Evoluent Vertical Mouse. We have not been compensated in any way for writing this review. The opinions expressed are our own.

Top 3 Reasons the Evoluent Vertical Mouse stands our as one of the best Vertical Mouse devices on the market:

  1. At Solutions Northwest Inc., we believe the overall feel of a piece of equipment is very important. The Evoluent has a very natural feel and puts the wrist in a very good neutral position.
  2. This mouse comes in left-handed and right-handed versions. Some products are made to do both but they don’t seem to fit the form of the hand as well as a dedicated left/right product.
  3. This vertical mouse comes in different sizes. Have you ever used something that’s too small or big for you? If you have, then you know how uncomfortable that can be. A mouse which is the wrong size for you can cause unnatural posturing of the hand and wrist which are risk factors. So if you must mouse, an Evoluent Vertical Mouse is an option we recommend.

In conclusion

Remember to always consult with your doctor to rule out any possible underlying cause of pain. And be sure to communicate with your staff, co-workers, or office managers/admins to see if they’d like to try any of these products.
